A Centrifuge is the most energatic efficient machine for
separating solid from liquid. The filtration types of
centrifuge have a rotating basket, which supports the
filter media within itself. Due to the centrifugal
force the liquid is forced out through the filter media
while the solid is retained is inside the rotating basket. A
higher centrifugal force can be obtained by increasing the
speed of the basket. Centrifuge is a process that involves the use of the centrifugal force for the separation of mixtures, used in industry and in laboratory settings. Centrifuge is a piece of equipment, generally driven by an electric motor that puts an object in rotation around a fixed axis, applying a force perpendicular to the axis. The centrifuge works using the sedimentation principle, where the centripetal acceleration causes more dense substances to separate out along the radial direction.
